In class Wednesday my group discussed Personnel
Resilience. This topic is something that I feel strongly about and have a
strong sense of personnel resilience. For pre-work my group assigned a TedTalk
and test to measure personnel resilience. Often times TedTalks are long and
challenging to follow but the one we watched was interesting and motivating.
The speaker discussed challenges that she had to overcome to fulfill her dream
of becoming a news reporter for CNN. On her way to becoming reporter she talked
about the four steps she used which were; Trust your struggle, do not believe
in competition but creating what we want, To give, and Success comes when
opportunity meets preparation. These steps are key to building personnel
resilience.
On the test I scored a 92 which is very high personnel
resilience and I found this to be true. When I am placed in different
situations I feel strongly in keeping my emotions in check and also comfortable
in confronting someone if I feel they are wrong. Personnel Resilience is built
over time from situations and relationships. The saying "what doesn't kill
you makes you stronger" is something I find myself being more realistic
every day. We need to roll with the punches and use the last to work towards
the future.
While I only know you from class, you seem to be the type of individual who is not easily knocked around by circumstance. I hope you can sustain that level of resilience in your professional endeavors.
